There are so many resources for keeping our younger children involved in General Conference. If you search the Internet or Pinterest for "General Conference Packet", you will have numerous options to chose from. They usually have both a Junior Primary and a Senior Primary option. I know that our youth are old enough now to focus their attention on the speakers. They can understand and follow the messages...BUT...I wanted to create a little incentive for them to listen and write down a few of their favorite messages.
There is nothing profound about this idea...It is super simple but will hopefully give the girls something to focus on. Listen, Record, Share, Reward. It is a corny little rhyme to remind the girls that if they write down a few of the messages they enjoyed, share them at their weekly activity or in class (whichever you choose) they will be rewarded...TWICE! Once through spiritual blessings and second through whatever "treat" you want to provide. That could be edible treats (basked goods, candy etc.) small notebook and pen, scripture markers, anything that works for your budget.
You can download the PDF files above. Staple them together and hand them out to your Youth! Enjoy General Conference this weekend!
Oh, how we need general conference! Through conferences our faith is fortified and our testimonies deepened. And when we are converted, we strengthen each other to stand strong amid the fiery darts of these last days.9 Elder Robert D. Hales
**Please Note: Due to different versions of power point the slides may need to be adjusted after you download them. Please go through the power point before your lesson to make sure the pictures and the text are formatted correctly! I just opened a file I made using my laptop with my iPad and the font was different, colors were different and some of the pictures were in the wrong place. It may take a little tweeking! :)**
I'm a 36 year old Mom of 4 kiddos, 3 boys (12, 4 & 2 years old) and one little princess (9). I have an awesome hubby who puts up with my craziness...He supports me when I spend way too much time on my YW lessons. I started this blog for fun and have been so excited to watch it grow and watch others being able to use the Power Point lessons, handouts and other ideas I have posted. Thank you for stopping by!
